Wrapped Cross Gift

Have you ever felt like you’re waiting on God to make a move? You’ve been praying for a breakthrough, some clarity, or a sign — but nothing seems to be happening. It’s so easy to think, Why isn’t God answering me yet? But what if He’s waiting on you?

Here’s the thing: God doesn’t usually just drop blessings in our laps. Instead, He gives us the tools to help ourselves. It’s like how a good parent teaches their kids — they guide us, but they also let us figure some things out. You’ve probably heard the saying, “You can’t win the lotto if you don’t buy a ticket.” It’s the same with faith: you can pray for a relationship, but nobody’s going to knock on your door and ask you out. Or when you pray for patience, God doesn’t just zap you with it — He puts you in situations where you can learn it.

Steve Harvey explains it like this: God sends your blessings when you ask for them. They’re packaged up, ready for you, but you have to stay on the path to receive them. If you wander off — or stand still — you might miss what He’s already sent your way. Sometimes we block our own blessings without even realizing it, whether it’s because of fear, doubt, or feeling stuck. But here’s the big question: has God already given you what you need, and you’re just not picking it up?

Here’s another way to think about it. God doesn’t hand us the big stuff right away. He tests us with little things first to see if we’re ready. Jesus said it so clearly in Luke 16:10 (ICB): “Whoever can be trusted with small things can also be trusted with big things.” If you’re praying for a breakthrough in your career, but you aren’t showing up fully in the job you have now, how can God trust you with something greater? If you’re asking for a stronger relationship, but you’re not working on yourself or your faith, how can you be ready when the blessing comes?

God isn’t holding out on you. He’s waiting for you to take a step forward. Maybe it’s time to get out of your own way, let go of the fear, and trust Him completely. He’s ready, the blessings are ready — are you? What’s stopping you from stepping out in faith?

Taking That First Step

There’s a story in the Bible that shows how God’s blessings often require us to act in faith first. In Joshua 3, the Israelites were about to cross the Jordan River into the Promised Land. The river was at flood stage — a dangerous, overwhelming obstacle. But God told the priests to carry the Ark of the Covenant into the water. Only when their feet touched the water did the river stop flowing, allowing them to cross on dry ground.

The miracle didn’t happen until they stepped in. God had already prepared the way, but He was waiting for them to trust Him and move forward.

Are You Holding Back?

Sometimes, we wait for clear signs from God, a neon light that says, “This is the way.” But God might be waiting for us to show faith first. Are there areas in your life where you’re holding back because of fear, uncertainty, or doubt? Maybe it’s a decision to forgive someone, start a new chapter, or take a leap of faith in your calling. Whatever it is, God might be saying, “I’ve already made the path — now take the step.”

What Are You Waiting For?

God is not distant or ignoring you. He’s already working behind the scenes, aligning opportunities, resources, and people. But He’s waiting for you to trust Him enough to move forward. Like the Israelites at the Jordan River, sometimes we just need to take that first step into the unknown and trust that He’s got us.

Daily Prayer

Dear God, thank You for always being ready to guide me. Help me to recognize the ways You’re calling me to move forward in faith. Give me the courage to take the next step, even when I’m unsure. I trust that You are waiting on me with open arms, ready to lead me into Your blessings. Amen.
